Sparks Brain Preservation is a growing non-profit brain preservation organization founded in 2005, with headquarters in Salem, Oregon. Currently, we generally hire people who live close to Salem, or are able to relocate here, because it's beneficial to have employees who live near our facility. However, we are open to hiring candidates who are willing to relocate to one of our other facilities in the coming years, as we are planning to open facilities in cities across the US, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City.

Anatomical Research Specialist 

 

This position offers opportunities to contribute to research, with potential co-authorship on peer-reviewed scientific publications, while developing a diverse set of laboratory skills. This position involves work with human anatomical donors.

Job Responsibilities:


Benefits include very good medical and dental insurance, 401k with match, paid holidays and paid time off (vacation or sick time). Wage varies based on factors listed above, but starts at $22-24/hr depending on experience, 40 hours/week, with annual raises to higher ranges. The position requires being available on evenings and weekends if needed, which is paid at higher rates.

We work with the HR department of a different company for the hiring process, so you may be put in contact with them. We will contact you as soon as possible, depending on load.
We may talk to you on the phone and ask some basic questions to get the process started. During or after the phone call we may arrange for you to come in and be interviewed (or have this done remotely if you do not live locally). The interview may consist of the following, which may be split into two parts: 

 

 

Soon after (usually a few days, sometimes longer) we may offer you a position, or let you know that you have not been offered a position. A drug test and background check will also be required. Keep in mind that even applicants who are not immediately hired, or asked to come in for a final interview, may be offered a position in the future.
